Convoluted Microwave Absorber

DMC Convoluted absorbers are made of flexible PU foam material block with the front surface cut to convoluted shape, dipped into absorbing slurry to provide desired electrical grading due to rounded convolutions and lacking sharp corners and points. Our CVT series absorbers are preferred for millimeter wave frequencies and for very wide incident angles.

Frequently Asked Questions

A convoluted microwave absorber is a flexible RF absorbing foam designed to reduce microwave reflections.

The absorber is made from carbon-loaded polyurethane foam designed for RF absorption.

They are commonly used in RF test chambers, antenna measurement labs, and EMC testing facilities.

The DMCRF convoluted microwave absorber typically operates from 8 GHz to 80 GHz.

These absorbers can achieve reflectivity levels around –30 dB depending on frequency and thickness.

Yes, the absorber materials are designed to meet fire-retardant safety standards.

Yes, they are often used in anechoic and semi-anechoic chambers.

Yes, the lightweight foam panels allow simple installation on walls or test enclosures.

Industries such as aerospace, defense, telecommunications, and electronics testing use them.

DMCRF absorbers provide reliable RF absorption, wide frequency coverage, and durable materials.
